The enchanting spirit of the holiday season arrived in full splendor this past November 22 as Lee's Summit as well as those in the surrounding area gathered at Paragon Star for the highly anticipated Magic Tree Lighting Ceremony. Families, friends, and community members came together under the starlit sky to kick off the festive season with a night filled with joy, warmth, and the magic that only the holidays can bring.
The Magic Tree Lighting Ceremony was more than just the illumination of a tree; it served as a reflection of the enchantment of Christmas. Notably, Ryan Justus, our esteemed Grand Marshal from the Lighting Ceremony five years ago, returned to lead the festivities, marking a five-year milestone since overcoming leukemia. This joyous occasion celebrated both the meaning of the season and the remarkable resilience of the human spirit.
In the true spirit of the season, the Magic Tree Lighting Ceremony also served as a platform for giving back. Attendees were invited to contribute to the festivities by bringing a donation of a new, unwrapped toy when visiting the Magic Tree. This heartwarming initiative was in support of Operation Toy Soldier, a worthy cause that ensures children, both of deployed and non-deployed soldiers, receive the joy of toys during the holiday season.
